Parts of a Buckinghamshire village were disrupted due to heavy rain.
Areas of Chalfont St Peter were currently closed off to members of the public as maintenance workers flushed out excess water in parts of the civil parish.
Images taken on Friday, February 9 revealed that the main road leading commuters and shoppers into the High Street was cordoned off due to the adverse weather conditions.
Additionally, one of the village’s main car parks was also closed off.
A member of the public told the Free Press: “It’s been like this for years whenever we get heavy rain.
“It’s because Chalfon St Peter is very close to the River Misbourne so whenever that overflows, it causes mayhem on the roads, as we’ve seen today.
“It’s always been like this.”
Another member of the public revealed that the maintenance workers had been out in force since the early hours of February 9 to get rid of the water.
Next to the Chalfont St Peter, parts of the main road were also badly impacted which included sections of the A413.
Large puddles caused motorists to drop their speeds from around 60mph to 30mph to avoid getting stuck in the water.
