Drivers are facing ‘long delays’ after a jack-knifed lorry caused two lane closures on the M40 this morning.

Congestion has built up on the major motorway, including at the junction 4 southbound exit to High Wycombe after a lorry jack-knifed in the road after 10am this morning.

Thames Valley Police said emergency services are currently at the southbound carriageway between junctions 9 and 8A in Oxfordshire to help move the lorry.

Two lane closures have been put in place and “long delays” are expected.

A police spokesperson said: “There are no reported injuries, but the clean-up will take a long time. Thank you for your patience.”
