M25 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 18) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M25 Motorway in the County of Hertfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on an adjoining road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the phased overnight closure of all the slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 at Junction 18 (A404).
This measure would be in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council undertake highway maintenance works on the adjoining A404 local road, which will be closed to traffic.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately one week, starting on or after 1st June 2022. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 05:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 28th May 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closure of the off-slips would be diverted on the M25 either to Junction 17(A405) or to Junction 19 (A41) as appropriate and then follow local diversion signage on the A41, A405 and A412. The on-slips will not be accessible when the A404 is closed. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
