A stop and search order has been issued in Bucks after police received reports of a group armed with weapons.

A section 60 order was issued in Newport Pagnell yesterday (Saturday) at 5pm, which will run until 5pm today.

The order, which grants police with greater stop and search powers, is in response to reports of four males armed with “hammers and bladed articles” in the area.

Police have attended the scene and it is not believed anyone has been injured.

Superintendent Felicity Parker, said: “I understand that these reports and the Section 60 order may cause some concern in the community, however we are carrying out an investigation and the Section 60 order is an important part of this.

“It is designed to help our investigation, as well as prevent violence from occurring. It may be extended if necessary.

“You may see an increased police presence in the area during this time, as there will be additional patrols, this is all part of our work to investigate and keep you safe.

“Please feel free to talk to our officers, they can help to answer any questions.

“The investigation is ongoing into these reports and we would ask anyone with information about this to come forward and report to police.

“You can do this by contacting the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101 or make a report online using the reference number 43210305579.

“If you would prefer to remain anonymous you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Thank you in advance for your continued support and compliance.”
