Several fire crews, which included one from Oxfordshire, were called out after a lorry was tipped over onto its side in Bucks.

At around 8am on Tuesday, June 29, crews from Buckingham, three from Aylesbury, and one from Bicester Fire Stations visited a landfill site in Brackley Lane on Calvert Green in the Aylesbury Vale, where they released an injured woman from the wreckage.

Once she was freed, the woman was given oxygen, before she was left in the care of the South Central Ambulance Service, according to Bucks Fire and Rescue.

She was later taken to hospital but as reported by the Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service Facebook page, the driver ‘was not seriously trapped’ and is believed to have only suffered ‘minor injuries.

In their Facebook post, they said: “A crew from Bicester Fire station supported colleagues from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust were called at just after 8am this morning [June 29] to report of a Lorry on its side at a Landfill site in Buckinghamshire.

“Fortunately on arrival, the driver of the Heavy Goods Vehicle was not seriously trapped and assisted from the vehicle by Fire Crews and Paramedics and taken to hospital by what is now believed to be only minor injuries, quick actions by on site staff allowed easy access to the lorry to allow medically trained Fire Fighters to give first aid.”

The cause of the accident has not been made public.
