Plans have been revealed for new homes on the site of the former police station in Gerrards Cross after the district council paid more than £4 million for the building.

South Bucks District Council (SBDC) bought Gerrards Cross Police Station, in Oxford Road, for £4,222,500 from its capital receipts reserve, earlier this year.

A planning application for 34 apartments - 14 of which will be affordable housing - is set to be submitted at the end of December, but the council is putting the plans on display so residents can have their say.

The site - which includes the police station and eight exisiting houses in a "dilapidated" state - lies within the Green Belt.

Their preferred scheme will feature six one-bed flats with six parking spaces and 28 two-bed flats with 56 parking spaces.

SBDC says the buildings will be "traditional" and in-keeping with their surroundings but will feature energy efficiency measures including solar panels.

The plans for the proposed scheme are now on display until December 15 at the SBDC offices at Capswood, Oxford Road, in Denham.

Display boards are also due to be set up at the council offices in Denham and Gerrards Cross.

Costs for the project are still being finalised, according to the council, and if planning permission is given the green light, work is due to start in July 2018.
