A High Wycombe man has been banned from entering TK Maxx after he was accused of stealing a £999 coat.
Richard Jefferies, aged 35 of Pallatia Court, was due to appear at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday) to face a charge of theft from a shop.
Jefferies is accused of stealing a coat worth £999 from TK Maxx in High Wycombe on Sunday, May 16.
The defendant was expected to face the magistrates today, but the court heard how he was not able to attend because he was suffering COVID-19 symptoms including “dehydration, headaches, coughing and sweating.”
Jefferies has yet to indicate whether he pleads guilty or not guilty to the charge.
The magistrates agreed to adjourn the hearing and resume on Monday, July 19.
Jefferies was also granted bail on the condition that he do not enter TK Maxx between now and the next hearing.
