The last game before Christmas sees Wycombe Wanderers take on top-of-the-table Ipswich Town at Adams Park.

With Tractor Boys hot on form and with the Chairboys turning a corner, how will the first festive period fixture play out in South Buckinghamshire?

Here are all the things you need to know ahead of the fixture on December 17.

Is the game going ahead?

Just like last week against Lincoln, there are concerns that the weather could call off the game.

However, Wycombe have published the following statement: "We are fully confident that Saturday's game against Ipswich will go ahead as planned.

"The pitch, car park and pathways around the stadium are being prepared to ensure the safety of all players and fans and we look forward to welcoming a bumper crowd to Adams Park."

Current form

Gareth Ainsworth’s team are currently two games unbeaten following a 2-0 victory over Portsmouth on December 4 and a 0-0 draw against Lincoln City six days later.

These results have moved Wanderers from midtable to ninth as they sit just four points off fourth place, in what has been an inconsistent season in the league.

From the 21 games played, Wycombe have won and lost eight of those fixtures, which includes five draws.

However, they have kept three clean sheets in the last four, with one of them being against Pompey, who have only lost three times all season.

Ipswich on the other hand have stormed to the top of the League One table with 13 wins from their 21 fixtures.

Amazingly, Kieran McKenna’s side have only been beaten six times since New Year’s Day – two of these defeats have come this season.

The Tractor Boys are unbeaten in their last seven league games in which they have scored 14 goals in that time.

They also have the league’s best goal difference with +20.
