Wycombe Wanderers striker D’Mani Mellor was named Man of the Match in Rochdale’s recent 1-0 home defeat by Carlisle United.

The 22-year-old, who is on loan at the Lancashire-based team, played the whole 90 minutes in their loss against the Cumbrians on January 28, with manager Jim Bentley expressing his delight in the forward’s performance.

It was the first-time in his career that Mellor had completed the entirety of a Football League match.

Speaking on their inaugural performance in a Rochdale shirt, Bentley said: “D’Mani worked extremely hard and had one opportunity around the back stick in the second-half.

“He looks like he’s going to be okay for us.”

Prior to moving back up north following his arrival at Wycombe in the summer from Manchester United, Mellor scored one goal in 12 appearances for the Chairboys.

His solitary strike was against Northampton Town in the League Cup in August.
