Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth has hinted that striker Tjay De Barr could get regular minutes as the season progresses.
The 22-year-old played the final 12 minutes in the Chairboys’ 3-2 victory over Derby County on February 11, and assisted Lewis Wing’s second of the match to seal the club’s 14th league win of the season.
What a result! What a game! Everyone played their hearts out today and we fully deserved that win. Special mention to @joe_jacobson and @JackGrimmer who were outstanding. And Tjay De Barr who made an impact right at the end! Happy weekend Wycombe fans! 💙💙💙

And with the Gibraltarian fully fit from his medical episode against Plymouth in December, the manager believes De Barr will receive more game time before the season is up.

Ainsworth said: “I had a feeling Tjay would make an impact when he came on and he did.
“His assist for Lewis’ second was really well thought of and he, along with all the rest of the attackers, played really well.
“Tjay has been waiting patiently in the wings because we had Ali Al-Hamadi, D’Mani Mellor, Sullay Kaikai, and Daryl Horgan being on good form.

“And it’s my decision in who stays and goes, and Tjay showed what we can do, and we need to remember that Chem Campbell didn’t even come on.
“We’ve got some real talent here, and I am sure Tjay will play his part before the end of the season like he did today [February 11]."
Overall, he has played 15 times for Wanderers since joining in 2021.
