Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has provided an injury update going into this weekend’s match against Morecambe.

The 39-year-old has confirmed that Sam Vokes has returned to full training following a calf injury, whilst Curtis Thompson has also participated in several drills.

The two have been absent for large parts of the season.

Speaking ahead of their match in the North West, Bloomfield told the Bucks Free Press on April 13: “We’ve had Sam Vokes out on the grass so we’re pleased to have him back.

“We’ll have to wait and see if he can travel with us to Morecambe because he’s only in his infancy in terms of getting fit, but he’s back out training which is brilliant for us.

“Garath is back as we saw against Forest Green and Curtis Thompson is back on the grass training.

"We’ve had a good training session ahead of Morecambe and we’re looking forward to the game.

“It’s good to have that competition back and to see all those personalities out together.

“However, we want to be careful with the bodies as we don’t want to do too much with them too soon, but it’s a welcome sight to see them back out.”

The fixture on April 15 will be Wycombe’s 11th visit to Morecambe since their first meeting back in the 2007/08 season, with the Chairboys winning five times at the Mazuma Stadium.

In fact, out of their 10 visits to the Shrimps, Wanderers have only been defeated twice, which includes losing 3-2 last season.

And with Derek Adams’ side in need of points to try and avoid a return to League Two after two seasons in League One, Bloomfield believes it will not be an easy fixture.

He continued: “This will be a dangerous game and it will be a tough test.

"They've got some good players, and they got a really good 0-0 draw at Fratton Park last weekend which isn’t easy.

“They also went 1-0 up against Plymouth recently which shows they’ve got good legs in them, they know how to pass the ball, and have a goal threat, so we know this will not be an easy afternoon for us.

“We need to have the same mindset that we had against Forest Green, which is to be confident in ourselves whilst having respect for the opposition.”
