New banners have been erected across the Adams Park terrace ahead of Wycombe Wanderers’ season opener against Exeter City.

Members of the 1887 Club, who are a group of supporters that aim to improve the atmosphere around the stadium, visited the Hillbottom Road venue on August 4 to put several decorations around the vicinity.

This comes after weeks of constructive and positive talks with the club’s delegates along with several supporters to try and make Adams Park more ‘homely’.

Additionally, Wycombe fans have collectively donated £1,500 for the banners to be produced, with additional flags to arrive at a later date for various other sections of the stadium.

This is one of many projects to try and make the club’s presence more dominant in the town, with the Hour Glass pub on Chapel Lane decorating its establishment in Wanderers shirts, scarves, flags and pennants.

The Flint Cottage opposite the train station has also become the away day boozer for travelling fans.

Speaking on Twitter, the 1887 group said: “When this group first started, we never dreamed this would happen.

"Thank you so much to each and every single one of you.

"BE there Saturday, be loud and sing proud because all of this is down to you, the fans."

Tickets for the match against Exeter are still available.
