Wycombe Wanderers forward Dale Taylor admitted that his new club ‘proved a point’ in their recent 3-2 win over Leyton Orient.

The Northern Irish striker scored his first goal for the Chairboys in the victory over the East London team in what was his fourth appearance.

Additionally, he faces his old club in Burton Albion this weekend just months after scoring for the Brewers against Wycombe in a 2-1 win at the Pirelli Stadium.

He said: “I had a few chances prior to scoring so it was great to finally get off the mark now rather than later.

“It was really important for me and overall, it was great as the fans were amazing and the lads were top.

“We needed to bounce back after the first two games so it was massive to win and we proved a point.

“And when you score a goal, it gives you confidence going forward so for me I’ll be able to score a few more.”

On his time at Burton last season, he added: “I had a good loan spell there last season but I’m here now and to me, it’s just another game that we want to win and I think we will beat them.

“I’ve also given the gaffer a few suggestions and let them what I know.

“I go into every game trying to score and hopefully I’ll score this weekend like I did against Wycombe last season.

“Hopefully we’ll get the win.”
