History was made in Wales’ 4-0 friendly victory over Gibraltar as it was the first time that two current Wycombe Wanderers players faced each other for their respective nations.

For the Dragons, Joe Low started and played the full 90 minutes in what was his first-team debut for the country, whilst for Los Llanis, striker Tjay De Barr played 71 minutes before being substituted. 

It was his 35th cap.

May fans were quick to congratulate the two Chairboys as many stated that this earmarked the progression of the club in recent years.

Wanderers supporter, Jayden Wilkins, said: “Two Chairboys players on the same pitch at international level for the first time.

“This club has come so far in the last few years.”

Former Chairboys defender, Mark Rogers, who became the first Wycombe play to represent their country (Canada) whilst at the club, said: “So great to see more and more Chairboys being called up for their country.”

Another Wanderer who is currently away with their respective country is Dale Taylor.

The 19-year-old will be in the Northern Ireland squad to face San Mario (who are ranked as the worst country in Europe), and Slovenia in their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

The fixtures will take place on October 14 and 17 respectively.
