Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has hinted that ‘one or two more’ players could join the club this transfer window.

The Chairboys have already acquired the services of the Ivorian striker Richard Kone from Athletic Newham, with the 20-year-old scoring on his debut in the club’s 2-1 victory against the West Ham U21s in the EFL Trophy.

Wanderers are currently looking to add to their forward line, preferably with a creative midfielder or another striker.

This also means that departures are imminent, however, no confirmation of any exits, excluding Kian Breckin's return to Manchester City, have been publically revealed.

Speaking after the club’s round of 16 win against the Hammers on January 9, Bloomfield said: “We’re looking to recruit and we’re hoping to bring one or two more in.

"We’re really happy about Richard [Kone] but we still believe there is an opportunity to strengthen, and we’ll see what that looks like."

On Kone’s arrival and performance on his inaugural competitive appearance for the Chairboys, he continued: “We had to wait until January but he’s been training with us since then.

“He knows where the net is, he’s very composed but we need to be careful not to put too much pressure on him as he’s a young boy.

“He’s one that we’ve been waiting for and I think he’ll play a huge part in our future.”
