Wycombe Wanderers head coach Tom Hounsell has described this week's training sessions as "really positive" as his side look to bounce back from last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Luton Town.
Hounsell, who was officially appointed the club's permanent head coach just hours before the loss, suffered his first defeat after overseeing four wins and a draw during his spell in interim charge.
The Chairboys return to action against Notts County on Saturday and the Wanderers boss believes his players have responded well to the setback.
It will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2017/18 season.
Despite seeing his unbeaten run ended, Hounsell said the mood in camp has remained upbeat.
He said: “We knew we had been on a good run and Saturday was a difficult game.
"We were punished in some key moments, but there were also positives to take from it.
"We created a lot of chances and there were some good aspects to our performance.
“That has carried into this week, which has been really positive.”
"The players have worked at a high intensity and are focused on putting things right and getting that important first home win."
While disappointed with the manner of the goals conceded last weekend, Hounsell believes there were encouraging signs in the performance.
He added: "We don't want those kinds of critical ball losses in our own half, but if you take those moments away there were periods where we could easily have been level or even ahead.
"The key for us is not to get too high or too low.
“We were punished on Saturday, but there were also some pleasing parts of the game."
Looking ahead to Notts County, Hounsell expects a stern test despite their mixed start to the campaign.
"Notts County are a good side and a very competitive side," he said.
"They've only really lost games by narrow margins and they've just come off a positive result in midweek, so we know they'll arrive with confidence.
"They've got good ideas and they can play in different shapes, so we expect a real challenge."
The match will kick-off at 3pm.
