FAN favourite Harry Redknapp is going back on the road by popular demand - and will once again be stopping off in High Wycombe later in the year.

The former football manager and King of the Jungle (he won I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2018) was such a hit with audiences at the Wycombe Swan, he is coming back again on Wednesday, October 21.

The 73-year-old star last appeared at the Swan in November last year and delighted the crowds with tales from his time in the Australian jungle.

During his three-week stint on the ITV reality series, Redknapp charmed millions of viewers with amusing tales about his life, and his love for Sandra, his wife of 54 years.

Now the star, who lives in Poole, Dorset, will be sharing anecdotes and stories from his lengthy career as a professional football player and manager much closer to home in An Audience with Harry Redknapp.

Before taking on a career in football management, the 71-year-old played for Bournemouth and West Ham.

He went on to manage a string of clubs - most notably Tottenham Hotspur, but also Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham, West Ham and AFC Bournemouth.

He and wife Sandra have two children -Mark, a model, and Jamie, who followed in his father’s footsteps to become a footballer.

In I’m A Celebrity, Harry beat fellow contestant actress Emily Atack to the coveted title of King of the Jungle, while performer John Barrowman was third.

Redknapp, who had never watched the ITV programme before entering the camp, said afterwards: “I’m amazed I survived three weeks.”

As well as keeping the nation entertained with his tales, he also proved to be a worthy contestant when it came to Bushtucker trials, tackling an assault course, getting covered in rats and eating “delicacies” like a sheep’s brain.

Runner-up Atack said she was “honoured” to have been in the final alongside Redknapp, who she said was a “worthy winner”.

Redknapp’s final trial saw him lying down in an underground chamber while creepy crawlies and rats ran all over him.

The former football manager will be lifting the lid on what life was really like in the jungle, as well as sharing anecdotes and stories about his career in football.

The Swan is also offering superfans a chance to buy VIP tickets - meaning audience members can have a photo taken with the jungle king and pick up a signed photo - for £89.50, while regular tickets are priced at £39.50.

At the end of the evening there will also be an audience Q&A.

Tickets are available online now at wycombeswan.co.uk.

The theatre is advising you do not ring the ticket office to book tickets while the theatre is temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. All shows taking place before May 31 will not go ahead.
