The first pictures for a new “breathtaking” Stanley Spencer exhibition were hung on the walls of a Cookham galley yesterday.
Floral paintings by the iconic Cookham artist now decorate the walls of the Stanley Spencer Gallery on the High Street ready for the launch of “Stanley Spencer: Visionary Painter of the Natural World” on Thursday.
The series of work from the 20th century artist depicts the natural world in flower paintings, garden vistas and landscapes.
The new display replaces gallery's previous exhibition “The Creative Genius of Stanley Spencer” which finished on Sunday.
It will run until October daily, including weekends, from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
