AMERSHAM author Colin Seabright has released a book on the town exploring life past and present.

The book called Amersham Through Time is a then-and-now photo book where half the photos are old pictures taken around the town over the past century.

The other half are modern shots of the same locations so readers can see how the town has changed.

Seabright's captions outline the history that has brought the changes about from the 19th century to the 21st.

Seabright has lived in Amersham for 50 years and his main hobby is collecting and studying postcards, photographs and information on the history and topography of his home town.

He is now retired but was previously a manager in the BBC Communications Engineering Department.

The book is available from local bookshops and on-line from Amazon and Tesco and costs £12.99.
