CHESHAM Theatre Company staged two superb plays, one by Sean O’ Casey and the other by Bertolt Brecht translated by Rory Bremner. Both were extremely funny and both were well presented.
The first story tells of a husband and wife at loggerheads, he suggests they change places and she does the work on the farm while he looks after the house. Enter his friend Barry and chaos ensues. The Irish accents were excellent and maintained throughout the performance. And the laughs came thick and fast.
The second play tells of a family gathering for a wedding and , an over exuberant father of the bride telling the most awful tales to the guests, a pregnant bride, a rather hapless groom, a vamp of a sister and a wedding guest with a very naughty poem to recite and you have the makings of a brilliant evening’s entertainment complete with a very strong cast too numerous to mention Well done Chesham Theatre Company one of the best evenings I have experienced in a long time.
