WITH the popular series Larkrise to Candleford being shown recently on T.V. the Beaconsfield Theatre Group decided to reprise a production they had previously staged.
It told of a day in the life of a farming community during harvest. The performance opened with some very lively musicians setting our feet tapping and creating the atmosphere of the play. The set was superb and the props authentic.
Credit must go to the wardrobe for the extremely realistic costumes which set the scene. With such a large cast it would not be fair to mention any one actor in particular, suffice to say everyone played their parts well with no weak links and the evening proved to be a great success.
Credit must go to Andrew Rogers for his superb directing. The lighting and sound effects were brilliant throughout. There was much laughter but also some sadness when the villagers recalled the devastation caused by the First World War I.
An impressive evening’s entertainment.
