ANITA Dobson will be switching on the Christmas lights in Thame this Friday.

Best known for her role as Angie Watts in Eastenders, Anita will be taking a break from pantomime rehearsals at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre to turn on the Christmas lights at Thame’s Dickensian Christmas.

Visitors can ride on the Victorian horse and carriage or miniature steam railway running from 3.30pm. And at 5.30pm there will be the junior school’s lantern parade.

Stage events commence from 6pm and feature community singing accompanied by the junior school choirs and Thame Concert Band.

There will be appearances from the Thame Players, Stagecoach Thame and the Chamber Choir plus live music from Ska Souls. Father Christmas will also be there and he will announce the winner of the Top Hat Trail competition.

There will be a host of stalls selling original gifts perfect for Christmas plus food stalls offering everything from fudge to hog roast baps. The festivities are on December 6 from 3.30pm. For more information visit www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk
