A giant of a pantomime is set to come to High Wycombe this Christmas – starring Britain’s Got Talent stars Ashleigh and Pudsey.

The Wycombe Swan have announced that the popular talent show winners will star in Jack and the Beanstalk from December 9 to 31.

The panto will replace the previously advertised Aladdin.

Ashleigh Butler will play Princess Apricot alongside her canine companion Pudsey in the new family fun show.

The pair rose to fame after winning the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012.

Since then they have presented two series of their own TV show for CBBC, Who Let The Dogs Out, appeared on American television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, America’s Got Talent, Good Morning America and E! News and released Pudsey: My Autobidography - which sold-out within three days.

A shorter version of the book, A Pup Story, was released for younger fans, which was accompanied by a book-tour across the country.

In 2014 Pudsey the Dog: The Movie was released and screened in 400 cinemas across the UK, with Pudsey being given his voice by David Walliams.

Alongside their many appearances on screen, Ashleigh & Pudsey are no strangers to the stage, having starred in pantomimes for the past five Christmas seasons.

Their most recent pantomime outing was in Jack and the Beanstalk in Northampton where they won rave reviews along with Sullivan, their newest canine sidekick who also starred in the show.

Executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk, Jonathan Kiley said “We are delighted to announce that Ashleigh, Pudsey and Sullivan will be starring in this year’s pantomime at Wycombe Swan.

“Jack and the Beanstalk will feature a fabulous live band, spectacular special effects and Ashleigh, Pudsey and Friends’ much-loved routines.

“It’s guaranteed to be a magical Christmas treat for the entire family.”

The show will be staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, and the company behind the theatre’s previous record-breaking productions of Cinderella, Peter Pan and Dick Whittington.

Theatre director at Wycombe Swan, Simon Stallworthy, said: “We are all tremendously excited to have Ashley and her four-legged friends here for Christmas. It’s a unique and magical element of a great panto story and is sure to be a huge hit with audiences. ”

Further casting announcements are set to be made in the coming months.
