Brenton Thwaites has apparently won a coveted role in the fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.
The Aussie actor will play British soldier Henry in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, reported Deadline.
He triumphed over a host of other young stars to play Henry, who will fill the slot vacated by Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner, as the actor isn’t thought to be reprising his role.
Maleficent star Brenton, 25, is said to be in final negotiations to get on board for the film.
Johnny Depp is returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth instalment of the hit franchise, which is already in pre-production in Australia, and Javier Bardem is in talks to play the villain.
There has also been speculation the Spanish actor’s wife, Penelope Cruz, may reprise her role as Angelica Teach, who she played in the last instalment Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 2011.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is due to be released in cinemas in the summer of 2017.
