The world and his grandma has seen the amazing video of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston throwing some serious shapes together at the Met Gala Ball on Monday.

But how did this dream pairing come about? Tom has spilt the beans about the viral vid.

He told the Press Association: “I love dancing, who doesn’t? It’s a weird one (that it went viral). I haven’t actually danced for a long time, but I happened to be dancing at the Met Gala because it was a party.

“I was on a table with Taylor Swift  and The Weeknd was playing and she said, ‘The thing about these parties is nobody gets up to dance’ and you’re making music.

“She, as a musician, was like, ‘We’ve got to dance for The Weeknd’ so we got up and danced.

“I didn’t know it was going to ping round the world, but it’s all good.”

Taylor is a big fan of The Weeknd, so it’s no surprise she wanted to dance.

The Weeknd told a brilliant story about a tipsy Taylor “petting his hair” while praising his music the first time they met at the 2015 Grammys afterparty so we’re waiting to see if Tom’s locks got the same treatment.

Tom also talked about his own singing voice as he promoted I Saw The Light, his new biopic about country singer Hank Williams.

Tom admitted, “I would have put my own head through a wall at certain points I was so frustrated,” as he struggled to get the crooner’s voice right.

“I recorded Why Don’t You Love Me in an hour, I don’t know why it came so easily. It took me two weeks to record Lovesick Blues,” he said.

He admitted the responsibility to play Hank right was “massive”.

“It’s like I’ve turned up in  Liverpool and am going to play John Lennon. In Nashville, people have a very strong opinion about Hank Williams, he’s revered as one of the godfathers of American music.”

I Saw The Light is out in cinemas on May 6.
