THE chance to learn the steps from a BBC hit series choreographer will be up for grabs next week.

Dane William Bates, choreographer of the Dane Bates Collective - who featured alongside Cheryl Cole on The Greatest Dancer last year - is hosting two dance workshops at Ysgol Aberconwy.

Dance With Cinti (DWC) is hosting two workshops by Bates, one in commercial dance and another in lyrical dance, where he will demonstrate and teach the students some of the skills needed to pursue a career in professional dance.

Bates, whose dancers reached the semi-final of the show, said 'I am really excited to be back at DWC and I am looking forward to choreographing for my child hood best friend.

"She has a great pool of local talent in her school and it'll be fantastic to see how the students have progressed since my last visit."

Founded in 2015, DWC primarily focuses on ballet, lyrical, modern and acrobatic dance, 120 students regularly perform in events throughout the region and a number have progressed on to achieve recognition at a national level as part of the Eisteddfod.

As well as teaching exquisite dance, Bates will also be scouting for one lucky participant to enjoy a full scholarship to his own intense Easter event in April.

Jacinta McArdle, principal and founder of DWC said 'We are so excited to welcome Dane back to his home town to give our students a taste of his very talented choreography."

Both classes take place on Monday, March 156, with the commercial workshop starting at 5.45pm and the Lyrical workshop at 6.45pm.

Tickets is £7 for each workshop, available from ticketsource.co.uk/dwc.
