Marlow’s resident celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge, is set to bring his successful pop-up movie festival back to the town next month – but on a “grander” scale, new details have revealed.

Tom is bringing his popular event for foodies and film buffs back under a new name – the Gourmet Picture Company – and fellow chefs, Atul Kochhar and Rick Stein will be joining him.

Last year’s festival saw Marlow’s Assembly Rooms brought to life as a movie theatre, but this year, the month-long event will see different locations used – including Bisham Abbey and Riley Park.

Riley Park will be transformed into a theatre from December 8 until January 2, with different movies and shown every night and pub classics created by Tom and cooked up by his team.

From December 18 to January 5, the historic Abbey will open the doors to its decadent Great Hall and Warwick Room and for the first seven nights, Atul Kochhar will design Indian food for movie-goers to enjoy.

The final seven nights will see a seasonal menu created by Rick Stein.

A number of mini movie theatres will also be popping up at various places across town.

In a similar way to last year, all dishes will be served to the audience at their seats and the meal will be followed up by home-made ice cream created by Tom’s team at the Hand and Flowers.

Tom, who was one of four friends who came up with the idea, said: “It’s great to be back again for Christmas in Marlow.

"For me there’s nothing more Christmassy than settling down onto a comfy sofa to watch a classic movie, with some mates and something great to eat, and the Gourmet Picture Company gets it exactly right - the atmosphere at every screening is always something special.

“I know that Rick and Atul are preparing some fantastic menus too and I can’t wait to see everyone come down to enjoy the screenings across the town.”

Tickets for both Marlow venues will go on general sale on Thursday, November 16 – visit www.gourmetpicturecompany.co.uk for more information.
