Hundreds of Marlovians braved freezing temperatures to attend this year’s Carols on the Causeway last Thursday.

Carols around the Christmas tree were led by Marlow mayor Jocelyn Towns, accompanied by The Marlow Town Band and the Marlow Choral Society, at the annual event.

Children queued up to see Father Christmas in his grotto, who was giving out Christmas chocolates, while parents and friends enjoyed free mulled wine from the George and Dragon and mince pies donated by Waitrose and Marlow Town Council.

Cllr Towns said: “Carols on the Causeway is one of my most favourite events – it is such a special evening, bringing the community together in the traditional way, with everyone singing carols around the Christmas tree.

“For me it signifies the start of Christmas.”
