Marlovians are being called on to nominate their unsung heroes to be honoured at the second Celebrate Marlow event this year.

Individuals and groups will be recognised for their contribution to the community at the event, in September, which was held for the first time last year at the Crowne Plaza.

Mayor Jocelyn Towns said: “Please help us by telling us about your unsung heroes.

“We know many of the individuals and groups in Marlow give up their time and energy voluntarily for the community.

“We know there are more out there that we are not aware of, so please help us to find them so we can invite them to our community celebration in September as a thank you for their support.”

Senior citizens, veterans, schools, cadets and volunteers were all honoured at the inaugural event last year.

Tributes to the town were made by schoolchildren, celebrities and residents, and there was music from school bands and choirs.
