BOSSES at Marlow company Softcat were sporting an unusual look on Monday in honour of a schoolboy who died of Meningitis.
Chairman Peter Kelly and managing director Martin Hellawell from the Globe Park based firm, which sells information technology, put on the rugby socks on the day it handed over a cheque for £13,000 to the Harry Mills Trust.
The trust, which raises money for Meningitis research, was Softcat's charity of the year for 2008 to 2009.
Harry, who played for Marlow Rugby Club died two years ago aged 11.
He used to wear black socks with white hoops that belonged to his elder brother, which are different from the regular socks worn by the other team members.
Pairs of the stockings, emblazoned with the initials HM, were created in his memory and worn by his former team mates for a match last year.
Mr Kelly and Mr Hellawell wore a pair each to raise an extra £200 towards the total they handed to the Mills family.
The funds have been raised through a variety of activities including a sky dive, quizzes, raffles, a casino night and the company's jacket potato machine.
Every potato sold raises cash for the charity.
Mr Hellawell said: “ It was a fantastic cause which we were delighted to support and to get behind it makes you feel good about the company you run and for the staff the company they work for.”
