Beaconsfield Operatic Society under their brilliant musical director Ricardo Gonzales offered a veritable feast of songs from the shows.

Directed and choreographed by Ann Hertler-Smith the group presented some superb singing and lovely harmonies.

Their choice of music could not have been bettered and ranged from a lively interpretation of ‘Whatever Happened to Mabel’ from Mack and Mable to a striking and dramatic rendition of ‘Do You Hear the People Sing’ from Les Miserables.

The lighting was absolutely stunning and enhanced each of the different songs in a superb way.

To close the first half Beaconsfield Operatic Society performed a wonderful selection from Phantom of the Opera.

The show zipped along at a lively pace with some pleasing solos but too many to mention individual singers.

Another favourite with the audience was a vivacious and energetic compilation from Sister Act.

The auditorium was set out with tables and chairs and candles which added an intimate feel and made for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Their 2012 production is to be Annie and judging by past experience and the popularity of the show it should be well worth seeing so do look out for it.
