AN ICONIC Amersham hotel has been awarded its first AA Rosette award for the quality of its food.
The Crown Hotel in the Old Town was given the gong after judges said its standard of food stood out from other restaurants and hotels in the region.
The hotel - a film location for Four Weddings and a Funeral - has been handed the award just a few months after the opening of its new Chop House restaurant, which harks back to the 16th century.
Head chef David Hawkins said: "We’re very proud of our menus at the Crown, and believe they offer a great taste of the best of British food."
The AA Restaurant Guide's notes said that with the addition of the Rosette, the Crown had "achieved standards which stand out in the local area".
