THE snow has put the brakes on a charity bike ride which was due to be started by TV star Fern Britton on Sunday.
Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care’s Chiltern Cycle Challenge was expected to raise money to support those with terminal illness.
But after snow fell overnight, with more of the white stuff expected to fall over the next 24 hours, charity bosses have been forced to pull the plug.
An announcement on the event’s website reads: “Unfortunately we have had to cancel the event due to the bad weather.
“We're hoping to rearrange the event and will contact everyone who was registered to take part by email on Monday.”
Cyclists can choose between the 10km Aylesbury cycle way family ride, 35-mile or the more gruelling 75-mile route through the Chilterns.
