A SUPER-RICH Gerrards Cross businessman has spoken of his "love" for the village as he celebrates climbing 23 places in the list of the UK’s wealthiest people.

Rahul Nanda, known as Richie, is global chairman of TOPSGRUP and The Shield Group, and entered the Sunday Times Rich List at 426.

A successful year for Dr Nanda saw him increased his personal wealth in the last year by almost £20 million to £187 million.

And the self-made Indian entrepreneur, who moved to Gerrards Cross five years ago, believes it is the perfect place for his family to live as he awaits completion of their second home in the village.

"My wife and I fell in love with our house and the Gerrard’s Cross community so we decided that this would be the best place to raise our three lovely children," he said.

"The air is fresher out here, and when I am home, I like relaxing and feeling detached from my busy schedule in London.

"We also love using the extra space, which Gerrards Cross has to offer, to go for long family walks and just experience the great outdoors. My Children are especially happy here."

Dr Nanda’s two oldest daughters were educated at St Mary’s, an independent school in Gerrards Cross, while his youngest daughter still attends the school.

TOPSGRUP are India’s leading and largest security company and The Shield Group, which Dr Nanda fully acquired last year, is the UK’s 10th largest business security services provider.

It is the second consecutive year the businessman has featured on the definitive list, which ranks the 1000 wealthiest people in the UK.
