THE 13-year-old daughter of a mum who survived bowel cancer was one of the youngest people to take part in the MoonWalk in London.

Lois Bown walked the 26.2 miles on May 11 with her mum, Rachel and 67-year-old grandmother, Keren Thomas, as well as her mum's cousins Rebecca and Silla Royal.

During the MoonWalk people who take part wear bras, as it is organised by Walk the Walk, which is a breast cancer charity.

Wearing their decorated bras the five started walking at midnight and finished at 8am.

Rachel, 47, was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago. She received treatment and is now in remission.

She said about the walk: "It was great fun. We were laughing about it really. It was so cold.

"It was the most covered up MoonWalk ever."

So far Lois, who goes to Wycombe High School, has raised more than £850.

Rachel, who also has a 14-year-old son called Joseph, said: "She was absolutely determined to do it.

"She led from the front the whole way. She is just so fit and so determined to do it.

"She had to watch me go through two years of nasty treatment and operations and things.

"It has been really lovely to see she has turned a lot of that into positives."
