A SMALL dance school in Princes Risborough excelled at a national competition.
Shona Clack School of Dance runs from The Baptist Church in Bell Street and is affiliated to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
The National Grand Finals took place in Guildford, Kent, and included many girls and boys who represented dance schools from all over the country.
Eight of Shona’s dancers qualified for the finals by winning or coming runner up in a regional competition.
They were Lydia Dark, Ella Goff, Stephanie Seymour, Megan Woodward, Edith Lord, Charlotte Freeman, Hatty Daly and Gemma Strathdee .
Hatty is eight-years-old - the youngest finalist - and Gemma is the oldest at 19-years-old.
The school had seven placings throughout- Lydia and Ella took first place in the U12 Rock and Roll class and were runners up in the U14 Disco Pairs; Stephanie and Megan were third in the U16 Rock and Roll class, Stephanie was first in the U16 Disco solo and sixth in the Set Disco Dance Solo, Edith was fifth in the U12 Disco Solo and Megan was fifth in the U16 Disco Solo. Shona said she is very proud of the achievement of all of them and is elated at having National Champions at her school.
She is always looking for new pupils. The school runs on Monday, Thursday and Friday evenings at the Baptist Church. There is also a class at the Longwick Village Hall on Wednesday evenings.
