A CIVIL engineer from Marlow who was overseen projects from Brazil to Alaska has been awarded a top industry accolade.
John Hudson’s 32-year career has taken him all over the world, but had his feet firmly rooted on home turf when he was made a Fellow of the Insitution of Civil Engineers at a ceremony in London.
He was awarded the highest grade of ICE membership in recognition of his work in the offshore oil and gas industries.
Mr Hudson, who works for Marlow-based engineering contractors Foundocean, said: “I probably inherited my interest in civil engineering from my Father. I feel I am making a valid contribution to society, and after 32 years I still look forward to going to work everyday.
“So, becoming a Fellow is a very satisfying personal achievement.”
During his long civil engineering career, Mr Hudson has worked on foundations for deepwater oil and gas production platforms worldwide, including Angola, Alaska, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Mexico, and – closer to home – the North Sea.
