A BARBERSHOP quartet, who actually rehearse in a barbers, took two gold medals at their first competition.
Aca-Holics from Lane End rehearse at The Gateway Barbers in the High Street and are a ladies a cappella quartet.
They consist of three ladies from the village- Czarmé Pooley (baritone), Laura Ogle (lead and owner of the barbers) and Katy Donaghue (bass). Sue Hunt (tenor) travels every week from Surrey to rehearsals.
They have singing together since last year and took part in an informal competition in Guildford held by The Surrey Fringe Barbershop Chorus.
They won gold for the ladies section and gold for overall performance of the night- with the medals being made out of chocolates.
Katy said: "It was a really lovely surprise. We didn't expect to win."
They now hope to enter more competitions in the future.
