A LADY in Gerrards Cross celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family and friends this week.
Born on April 9, 1914, Winifred Bishop, celebrated with a party at her Gerrards Cross care home on Sunday, April 6.
Winifred has been a resident of Swarthmore Quaker care home for almost a year, and is said to be popular amongst carers and residents.
About 20 people came to celebrate the day with her, and the care home also added to the party atmosphere with a big cake.
In total over 50 people were with Winifred to celebrate her big day.
One care home staff member, said: “I hear it went very well, she had lots of family and friends here.
“The chef made her a big cake and there were also nibbles and sandwiches for everyone.”
