RISBOROUGH Youth Theatre staged a delightful interpretation of this very popular story by C J Lewis from the Narnia series.

The Youth Theatre with some members as young as six immersed themselves in the action with great enthusiasm.

The transformation from an unfurnished room with only a large wardrobe into the snowy scene in Narnia complete with fir trees was amazing with the changes of scene, of which there were many carried out in a slick and professional manner.

Many of the youngsters played more than one role and threw themselves into their parts with ease.

They kept their character throughout even when not actually being part of the dialogue and moved props around the stage competently.

The Snow Queen’s costume was amazing as was Aslan the lion, and Mr Tumnus, and the two beavers were incredible.

I especially loved the Queen’s followers in the form of The Rabble- it was obvious they loved being evil and relished the part they were playing.

A live band with an excellent musical director helped the action and with strong singing and some interesting harmonies the show moved along at a lively pace.

Sam Nix, who runs the group and directed the musical is to be commended for a very enjoyable production.
