A MAN sustained a broken ankle after he was dragged to the floor and assaulted in Stokenchurch by 'festival-goers', police said.

Ten people were crossing the Oxford Road to the Kings Hotel just after midnight in the early hours of Sunday morning when an altercation broke out between them and two members of the public, who were already in the hotel car-park.

A 48-year-old man was pulled to the floor and assaulted by a number of men in the group, which officers believe had attended Fleurfest.

The victim was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital for treatment to a broken ankle, as well as cuts and bruises to the face.

Police said some of the alleged attackers are white and others are of mixed race, and aged between 16 and 20 years old.

One of the group is described as male, of mixed race and wearing brown shorts. Another male is said to be white and wearing basketball shorts and basketball trainers.

Officers do not believe that any weapons were used during the incident.
