A TEENAGE motorcycle driver has died following a collision with a car in High Wycombe this morning.
The 18-year-old motorcyclist, who police say is from the local area, died at the scene of the collision in Chestnut Avenue, near London Road.
The teenager was in collision with a beige Toyota estate car at about 11.45am today.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and the teenager’s next of kin have now been informed.
Both Chestnut Avenue and the adjoining Bassetsbury Lane were closed while investigators attended the scene and recovery of the vehicles took place.
Both roads have since reopened.
Sgt Sharon Scarffe, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision to speak to officers.
“If you have any information which could assist the investigation, please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
