A DAY centre which was saved for the community continues to get busier than ever.

The Princes Centre in Clifford Road is also progressing well its fund to buy the building and continue services with a further £29,000 added to the fund in August.

Of this, £25,000, came from Red Kite Community Housing.

A further £3,000 is from a claim for Gift Aid relating to one of the generous anonymous donations reported in last month's update.

The appeal benefited from a Dress Down Day held by staff at Wycombe District Council, and from large donations from RAF High Wycombe, St Mary's Church [from midday concerts and the Jinglers concert] and Princes Risborough Methodist Church as well as numerous donations from local residents.

Without all this support, there would have been no local facilities for people as the nearest centres provided by Bucks County Council are in Aylesbury or High Wycombe.

The total raised has now reached £290,000- of this £55,000 has been used for start up and general maintenance costs so there is actually £235,000 in the fund.

Once the buildings have been purchased from BCC they will be in a better position to pursue grant funding towards some of the refurbishment and essential repairs that are required to make the buildings fit for purpose.

The Annual General Meeting for the Princes Centre is being held at 7pm on November 20 at the Princes Centre.
