A CAFE in Chinnor run by a TV presenter and cook has closed its doors for the last time.

Lotte's Kitchen was opened in the village in 2011 by Lotte Duncan and her neighbour, Sue Tiplady.

But on Saturday on the cafe's Facebook page it was announced they were closing for good.

The announcement was on the same day Lotte was interviewing chefs at Thame Food Festival, of which she is patron.

The post read: "It was a difficult decision and not taken lightly as we have been really happy in Chinnor – a village that has embraced and made us feel very welcome.

"It’s been a ball and we like to think we’re leaving on a high – busy and successful."

Lotte started on TV about 16 years ago on BBC's Ready Steady Cook as one of the chefs. In 2005, Lotte starred in ITV1’s Dial a Mum and has presented two of her own series on Carlton called Simply Puddings and Feast Days and Holidays.

She released her book, Lotte's Country Kitchen in 2010 and regularly works with the Food Network channel.

Lotte was interviewing TV chefs Tom Kerridge and Raymond Blanc, among others, at the popular food festival on Saturday.

The Facebook post continued: "Thank you so much to our customers and especially our regulars who have been incredible and supported us and the business from the beginning – you are all wonderful.

"And an enormous thank you to our lovely staff, especially Zoe who was with us from start to end. We know you’ve been as fond of them as we have."
