NO further action will be taken with regards to a dog who was killed on a pathway by a motorcyclist.

Nero, who belonged to Mandy and Gordon Lenton from Salisbury Close, died after he collided with a motorcycle on the Upper Icknield Way between New Road and Earl Mitchell playing field.

On June 11 a male was interviewed and was reported for careless driving, driving otherwise than in accordance than with a driving license and for Section 34 Road Traffic Act for riding a motorcycle on a bridleway.

At Princes Risborough Town Council on Tuesday night Sergeant Andrew Deane said the man had not been prosecuted as he did not do anything wrong.

The UIW is a bridleway and pedestrians, dog walkers, mountain bikers, horse riders, motor cyclists and vehicles can use it.

Motorcycles and vehicles can access the bridleway between the dates specified on the signs but these vehicles must be road legal and the users must have the appropriate license and insurance.

Officers have continued to patrol the pathway and have seized stolen bikes and other drivers have been arrested for document related offences. In his report, Sgt Deane said the problem with shed burglaries has been addressed after offenders have been arrested in the town and are being dealt with.
