Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Family History Talk: Women In The 1800s
Tom Doig looks at the way in which women coped with the stresses of every day life in the period prior to the accession of Queen Victoria. In particular he considers women’s self-help societies and how they led directly to the Welfare State of the 1940s, before moving to the role of women in the community, and the traditions of marriage and childbirth. Open Doors
A retreat house founded as a charity by Lady Sue Ryder. The final opportunity this year for the public to tour the Victorian Mansion and grounds which include a restored walled garden.
