BLADES repeatedly being embedded in a children's slide have stopped appearing but parents are still being urged to be vigilant.
The mindless thugs have been strategically placing craft knife blades on the slide at the playground in Blind Lane, Bourne End.
Ben Davies, 11, of Greenside, Bourne End, fell victim to the twisted prank two weeks ago when he suffered a deep cut that just missed his wrist.
Dad Roger, 30, said: "He was very lucky. It could have been a lot worse.
"I want to make parents aware that this sort of thing is going on. Their kids have to be extra careful and if they see anyone who they think might be involved to contact the local police."
The slide is being checked daily in order to stop further accidents and the blades have stopped appearing.
Gerry Barry, Wooburn Parish Clerk, said: "Hopefully whatever was happening there has stopped, but we will continue checking for the next few weeks."
