Plans to build four new houses on the site of the former Chesham Royal British Legion club look set to be given the go-ahead after planning chiefs recommended approval.
The club, in Broad Street, burned down in a huge fire in 2009 and was later demolished.
Proposals to build a row of four terraced houses on the site were put forward to Chiltern District Council last year.
The application was initially deferred for legal agreements to be put into place.
That has now been completed and the plans are back on the agenda again.
Case officers working on the application have recommended to members of the council's planning committee that the proposals should be passed.
The application is due to be discussed at a committee meeting at the council's head office in Amersham on Thursday, April 30.
