A Marlow artist and illustrator who was commissioned to produce work for the Tate Gallery in London last year is celebrating her first ever solo exhibition.
Nicola Metcalfe, whose colourful work was selected for a poster by the famous London gallery, hung her pieces at a special showing which began at Henley Business School at the weekend.
The former graphic designer and mum-of-two – whose vivid works depicting London landmarks is also now sold in John Lewis – said: “This is my first solo exhibition and it is similtaneously satisfying and nerve wracking.
“The Business School welcomes anyone who would care to have a look at the artwork which will be there until June 6.
“It is an excellent venue, offering a light filled exhibition space and delightful riverside grounds.”
To celebrate her success, last year Marlow Bottom resident Nicola prepared a special ‘Marlow’ edition of her work, a copy of which she donated to nearby Rebellion Brewery, which is featured on the design.
