Princes Risborough Town Council is hoping that the town could win big in the Bucks Best Kept Village competition.
The Town Council has entered Princes Risborough into the small towns category of the annual contest, which has been running for 58 years.
The competition is open to villages and towns throughout Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
Judges will be looking for well kept open spaces, community facilities and evidence of community involvement when judging begins in June.
In a notice posted on the town council website, residents are being asked to help keep the town tidy in preparation for the competition.
The villages and towns who will be awarded the status will be announced in July.
